Our three partners learned their trade at the UK’s original mortgage broker, John Charcol, where all three have consistently been amongst the top performers for many years.

Elliot Nathan
Senior Partner
Elliot has spent over 26 years in the mortgage market, and has worked across a number of roles, including leadership positions. His clients include first time buyers, remortgagers, buy-to-let professionals, high net worth individuals and hotel developers. As well as these, he also provides a number of companies with a mortgage advice service for their employees. During his time at John Charcol he was consistently amongst the top performers.
Away from mortgages, Elliot enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, as well as following his beloved Tottenham Hotspur
Darren Small
Senior Partner
Darren has 25 years’ experience in the mortgage market gained on both the broker and lender side of the fence. He began his career at Nat West Bank, holding both adviser and managerial positions. He joined John Charcol in 2000, firstly as a senior mortgage consultant, before leading the most successful and profitable team in the business’s London office.
Most recently, before launching eddge, Darren was a senior partner at John Charcol Associates, looking after a range of clients and working across all sectors of the property finance market. Outside of work, Darren enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons and following the reds of Anfield.
Darryl Plummer
Senior Partner
Darryl has over 20 years’ experience in the mortgage industry and has worked for both a major UK lender and a leading independent broker, John Charcol. This has provided him with a well-rounded perspective on the market and how it works, something he uses in his everyday dealings with clients and mortgage providers. His approach is to provide a truly personal service, working with all his clients to source and arrange the right mortgage for them from across the entire market.
Away from mortgages, Darryl is an avid fan of street art, touring Europe to find the latest creations. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and son. And he likes burgers. A lot.

Tim Ward
Senior Mortgage Adviser
Tim has spent over 30 years providing independent advice in the mortgage market. Most of his career has been spent with the UK’s original mortgage broker, John Charcol. His clients include first time buyers, remortgagers, buy-to-let landlords and commercial developers. Tim prides himself on providing a level of service to his clients that always exceeds expectations.
Away from mortgages, Tim is an avid supporter of Brentford FC, having followed them through thin and thinner for 45 years. He is also a motorcycle enthusiast and likes the occasional Pina Colada. And, of course, getting caught in the rain.
Shelini Meswania
Mortgage Adviser
Shelini has worked in the mortgage market since 2017 but has been working in finance since 2009. She prides herself on providing a truly personal service to her clients and is always available to them come rain or shine (although she prefers shine).
Away from mortgages she enjoys combining her two loves of food and travel: regularly exploring new parts of the world and sampling their many cuisines along the way. She is also somewhat of a TV addict, but she’d prefer that we didn’t mention that. Oh well.
Erin McGonigle
Mortgage Adviser
Erin hails from Greenock in Scotland and began her career in mortgages with RBS in 2015. In 2019 she moved to London to work with the eddge team. She most enjoys helping first time buyers onto the property ladder, but already has experience in arranging mortgages for a wide range of different client types.
Away from mortgages you will either find Erin in one of London’s leading eateries or on the slopes skiing like a pro (she really is that good). She is also addicted to the TV programme Real Housewives. But try not to hold that against her.
Nick Phillips
Mortgage Adviser
Nick has held a number of positions in his time in the mortgage industry. Beginning life as an administrator provided an excellent grounding in what it takes to process a mortgage to the highest standards. Now a mortgage adviser, Nick prides himself on providing a personal and bespoke level of service to all his clients. He works with a wide range of buyers, from first time buyers to investment professionals.
Away from mortgages you will find Nick on the tennis court (he used to compete at county level) or spending time with his wife and two children. He is also a big Arsenal fan, but we try not to hold that against him. Much.
Mortgage Administration
Ben Small
Senior Mortgage Administrator
Ben entered the mortgage world after leaving school, joining Knight Frank as a mortgage administrator. Here, he gained an excellent grounding in the mortgage process. Ben joined eddge as a senior mortgage administrator and is currently also completing his qualifications to become a mortgage adviser, as part of our internal people development programme.
Away from work, Ben is somewhat sport mad. His main obsessions (they really are obsessions) are the reds of Anfield and, across the pond, the Knicks of New York. Baller.

Drew Wotherspoon
Marketing Director
Drew Wotherspoon has worked in marketing roles for over 20 years, many of which have been with leading financial services businesses. These include John Charcol and Towergate.
He has a broad range of leadership and commercial experience skills that allow him to operate outside a pure marketing role. However, he is equally at home in “sleeves up” roles, that require high levels of doing, as the more strategic, commercial positions that provide direction and longer term vision. And he likes words. A lot.
